Fire crews were called to a home east of Auburn Tuesday night for the report of a house fire.
According to dispatchers, they were called just before 9:15pm for the report of a fire at a home in the 10600 block of Southwest Indian Hills Road.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they could see smoke and flames coming from the east side of the home.
As they battled the blaze, one firefighter fell through the roof of the home, but was not injured.
“He went up, to vent, and the next thing I know he is walking out the front door looking at me, and said I’m ok.”
According to Auburn Fire Chief, Scott Hunt, they were called to the home last week for a chimney fire. Contractors were at the home Tuesday to determine the cost of fixing the home from the last fire.
Hunt says they are not sure what caused the fire, and are continuing to investigate. 30% of the home was damaged and the whole house suffered smoke damage.
Everyone was able to escape without injury.
