Summary of Activities for the 24 hour period from Wednesday, September 17, 2013-0700 through Thursday, September 18 2013-0700.

The Geary County Sheriff’s Department responded to or self-initiated a total of (52) incidents, resulting in (9) cases, (8) citations and (2) arrests.

09172013, at 1510 hours-Deputies arrested John T. Mott of Gallatin, Tennessee on I-70 Mile Post 296 East bound for Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and following too closely.

09172013, at 1534 hours-Deputies arrested Steven R. Spalding of Enterprise, Kansas at the Provost Marshalls Officer on Ft. Riley, Kansas on a confirmed Geary County District Court warrant for Violation of the Kansas Registered Offender Registration Act.

09172013, at 2031 hours- Deputies responded to the area of 1126 E. Flint Hills Blvd., for a report of an individual who was entrapped in his vehicle after driving it into a river. The individual did not know his location and reported his vehicle was submerged in approximately 4 feet of water. Deputies along with personnel from the Grandview Plaza Police Department, Geary County Rural Fire Department, Junction City Fire Department, and the Grandview Plaza Fire Department were eventually able to locate the individual. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

09182013, at 0110 hours- Deputies assisted the Junction City Police Department with an incident at 1003 W. Valley View Drive.

The Geary County Sheriff’s Department responded to or self-initiated a total of (43) incidents, resulting in (17) cases, (13) citations and (1) arrests.

09/19/2013, 0247 Hours-Deputies arrested Nathan Edwards of Ogden, Kansas on 2 Geary County District Court warrants. 1 warrant issued for Probation Violation the 2nd was issued for Offender Registration. Both warrants were served in the Geary County Detention Center.
