One person was taken into custody Friday after taking troopers on a high-speed chase that ended near Topeka.
Captain Joe Bott said, “We had a trooper clock a vehicle northbound on the Kansas turnpike, just about five miles north of Emporia, going over 100 miles per hour.”
Bott said the trooper tried to stop the vehicle, but couldn’t, and they headed toward Topeka.
“They traveled all the way toward the south Topeka gate, where some patrol units from the Topeka area were able to deploy their stop sticks, which he ran over,” Bott said. “He stopped and was arrested at that point.”
Bott said there was only one person in the vehicle, and that it came back as stolen out of Missouri.
