TCU beat Kansas 27-17 Saturday in Fort Worth, handing the Jayhawks their second straight Big 12 loss in 2013. The Horned Frogs scored two touchdowns in the first five and a half minutes of the second half to take the lead for good and hold the Hawks at bay. Trevone Boykin hit David Porter with a 75 yard touchdown pass on the opening play of the third quarter to break at 10-10 tie. After James Sims fumbled on the second play following that kickoff the Frogs quickly scored again on a two yard run by D.J. Catalon for a 24-10 lead. The Hawks got a 27 yard touchdown strike later in the third quarter from Jake Heaps to Jimmy Mundine but couldn’t move the ball after that as the TCU defense dug in. The other KU score came in the second quarter on a 32 yard interception return by JaCorey Shepherd. TCU got a touchdown run from Boykin and a pair of field goals from Jaden Oberkrom. Heaps went 13-16 for just 152 yards with one interception. The Jayhawks fell to 2-3 overall and still haven’t won a Big 12 game in over three years. Their chances next week aren’t real good either – they host Oklahoma at 2:30.
