Saturday’s Kansas on Kansas concert is now going to be Kansas at the Kansas Expocentre.
With forecasters predicting possible heavy rain and thunderstorms this weekend, the free downtown performance by prog-rock icons Kansas has been moved to the Expo’s Landon Arena. Downtown Topeka Inc., says all afternoon and evening activities scheduled for the July 2 KANSAS on Kansas : A Downtown Celebration will still take place as scheduled.
Starting at 3 p.m., Heritage Hall will host food trucks and local musicians, with stage performances kicking off at 5:55 p.m. inside Landon Arena. Maria the Mexican is the first scheduled performer, followed by the Zac Harmon Band at 7:15 p.m. Kansas will take the stage at 9 p.m.
Seating will be available, so lawn chairs are no longer needed or allowed. All other event restrictions originally posted for the event remain in effect. Gate entry will be first come, first served, and saving seats will not be allowed. Parking at the Expocentre is free for this event, yet space will be limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
