Kansas Whips West Virginia

Ben McLemore set a Kansas freshman record and career high with 36 points while Jeff Withey and Elijah Johnson each had double-doubles as the Jayhawks had no trouble with the Mountaineers Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.

McLemore hit 12-15 from the floor, including five three pointers, on his way to the record setting game.

The Jayhawks as a team shot nearly 57% while West Virginia was just under 33%. Withey had 14 points and ten rebounds and nearly made it a triple-double with nine blocked shots.

Johnson added 12 points and ten assists for KU, which boosted its Big 12 record to 13-3. The Hawks will have at least a share of the conference lead Monday night when they host Texas Tech for Senior Night.
