As the government expands the use of drones over American soil, a student group at the University of Kansas is trying to draw attention to the issue.
This week, the local chapter of Young Americans for Liberty erected a display on campus that included a drone replica. Members of the student group — like Ryan Gash — say they are concerned about the increased domestic use of unmanned surveillance aircraft.
“It’s a loss of privacy,” Gash said. “It’s just another way for eye in the sky to watch you and we don’t feel like the government needs to be in all your business.”
Gash added, “They already try to do it with social media by data mining and this is just one more way that they want to spy.”
Young Americans for Liberty is an organization aimed at educating students on the ideals of liberty and the U.S. Constitution.
