A hit and run accident claims the life of a tow-truck operator.

The accident happened last night a little before 6 as the tow truck operator — 39 year old Christopher Burton-Scott — was hooking up to a disabled bus in Stafford County, located  in south-central Kansas.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident happened on westbound US-50 highway about a quarter-mile west of Stafford, where a westbound vehicle struck Burton-Scott, who was standing along the fog line at the rear of the trailer.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
