Update: Female Bicyclist, 29, Killed In Accident

Authorities say a 29-year-old woman died when she was hit by a vehicle while riding her bicycle. 

The Kansas Highway Patrol says Hayley M. Berrios died Sunday evening while riding her bike on the South Lawrence Trafficway at 27th Street in Lawrence. She was declared dead at the scene.

A 67-year-old Lawrence man who was driving the truck that collided with Berrios
was not injured.


Lawrence Police dispatchers have confirmed that a person has died after they were hit by a car while riding their bike along K-10 Highway in Lawrence.

Emergency crews were called to K-10, near mile marker 2 which is close to the 27th street intersection, for the report of an accident.

When emergency crews arrived on scene, they pronounced the bike rider dead.

Lawrence Police, the Douglas County Sheriff Office, and the Kansas Highway Patrol are investigating the accident.
