The Washburn Ichabods improved to 64-4 and 43-1 overall in home games when they reach at least 100 points in a 107-81 win over Kansas Wesleyan on Monday night on Schendel Court at Lee Arena. Washburn (4-0) will return to action on Thursday when they will face Rockhurst at 7 p.m.
The Coyotes led by as many as six in the openings minutes as Joey Long hit back to back 3-pointers staking KWU to a 6-0 in the first 46 seconds of the game. The two teams traded leads seven times in the first half and it was not until a mini 9-0 run over a 2:07 period by the Ichabods which stretched the lead to eight at 44-36 with 6:04 to play in the half.
The Coyotes cut the lead back to seven with 3:23 to play in the opening stanza but the ichabods used a 12-5 run over the final 1:48 of the half to take a 62-47 lead into the break.
Washburn shot 58 percent from the field in the opening half hitting 22 of 38 shots while the Coyotes were also near the 50 percent mark hitting 15 of 31 shots for a 48 percent clip.
In the second half the Coyotes cut the lead to 10 at 64-54 with 17:37 to play but they would get no closer as the Ichabods stretched the lead to as many as 27 taking the 107-81 victory reach the 100-point mark for the first time since a 107-69 win over Lincoln on Feb. 25, 2012.
Kyle Wiggins scored 14 of his game-high 18 points in the first half hitting 7 of 13 shots leading five Ichabods in double figures. Stephon Drane scored 16 going 6 of 9 from the field while Christian Ulsaker recorded 14,Alex North had 13 points with a team-high-tying six rebounds and seven assists. Jeff Reid scored 11 points. Ulsaker hit 9 of 10 from the free throw line as the Ichabods were 22 of 31 from the line in the game. The Coyotes were 24 of 30 overall from the stripe.

Washburn finished at 54 percent from the field cooling off to 49 percent from the field in the second half. The Ichabods were 38 of 71 overall while holding the Coyotes to 9 of 30 shooting in the second half ending the game with a 39 percent average hitting 24 of 61 shots.
Both teams finished with 40 rebounds with 15 offensive rebounds and 25 defensive rebounds. Washburn held a second chance points advantage of 20 to 13 while turning 20 Coyote turnovers into 33 Ichabod points.
