Nigel Johnson scored 15 points and Marcus Foster and Nino Johnson had 13 each as Kansas State beat Pittsburg State 75-54 in its lone exhibition Friday night.
Kansas State was without its best returning big man, Thomas Gipson, due to an undisclosed injury.
Devon Branch had 30 points and 16 rebounds for the Division II Gorillas on 10-of-18 shooting. The game closes the exhibition slate for Pittsburg State, which was routed 97-57 by No. 5 Kansas on Tuesday night.
After leading 9-7 with 12:58 left in the first half, Foster closed an 11-2 run with an impressive two-handed dunk. The Wildcats led 38-22 at halftime.
Johnson scored nine points in the second half while the Wildcats increased their lead to as many as 26 points. Turnovers plagued the Gorillas as they totaled 20, 12 in the first half.
Kansas State opens the regular season Nov. 8 against Northern Colorado.
