Kansas State coach Chris Klieman met with the media for his weekly press conference on Tuesday, and the mood was positive after the Wildcats won their first game of the season 49-14 over Nicholls.
Klieman discussed what his message was to the team after the Week 1 victory, and said that his philosophy is that past performance has no bearing on present and future execution. Other topics covered this week include injury updates, key players who will be counted on going forward (such as Lawrence-Free State product Jax Dineen) and his role in calling plays on either side of the ball during games.
K-State will be home again in Week 2 for a matchup with Bowling Green. The Falcons cruised in their season opener, blowing out FCS Morgan State 46-3, running 101 offensive plays for 620 yards in the process. That game will kick off on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
