An arrest has been made in a Saturday morning double shooting in Topeka.
According to Lt. Chris Heaven, at around 8:00 Saturday morning, Topeka Police responded to the 400 block
of SE Lafayette Street on a report of gunshots in the area with two possible victims.
Officers found a Hispanic man in his 30’s in the west alley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital via AMR. A second Hispanic man of unknown age was also wounded and had been dropped off at St. Francis hospital by personal vehicle.
Twenty-eight-year-old Daniel R. Munoz of Topeka was arrested as a result of the investigation. Munoz was booked into Shawnee County Department of Corrections for two counts of Aggravated Battery and one count of Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Both victims are considered to be in stable condition. One is considered critical, but stable.
