An Emergency Order of Local Health Officer has been issued for Topeka and Shawnee County beginning Saturday, July 25 at 12:01 a.m. This proactive public health order is issued to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on the Shawnee County community.
Shawnee County Health Officer Dr. Gianfranco Pezzino has updated the current local requirements which can be found on our Shawnee County website at www.shawneehealth.org. The main change is a definition for Shawnee County of the differences between bars and restaurants. Nothing in this order supersedes or negates or otherwise changes the Board of County Commissioner Mask resolution 2020-44 https://www.snco.us/hd/Document/resolution_2020_44.pdf.
The restrictions in place for Shawnee County are now differentiated between restaurants and bars. Some restrictions apply to both categories.
