Gas prices remain stable, relatively low for now, says AAA Kansas

Gas prices in Kansas are stable.

“We’ve had some actually pretty decent news here in the last week in Kansas,” said Shawn Steward with AAA Kansas. “We, on average, dropped one cent per gallon to an average of $2.64.”

That’s good for 10th cheapest in the nation.

“The national gas price hit a new high for the year this week,” said Steward. “Americans are having to work more to afford to fill up their tanks.”

Americans now have to work 22% longer compared to the beginning of 2019 to fill up their tanks.

“We’re talking about 7.3 minutes now, compared to 5.76 minutes in January,” said Steward.

It’s likely that geopolitical concerns, particularly in Venezuela could have a negative impact on crude oil prices going forward, which would likely trickle down to the pumps if it happens.
