The Hayden boys basketball team will be led by a former Wildcat and former Washburn Ichabod. The school announced the hiring of Torrey Head as the new boys hoops coach earlier this week. Head replaces Ted Schuler, who was asked to resign earlier this spring after ten years at the helm.
A member of Washburn’s basketball team from 1982-85, Head went on to be an assistant coach at his alma mater under Bob Chipman. He also briefly assisted at Hayden. Outside of coaching, Head has evaluated officials for the Big 12 Conference.
Head inherits a Wildcat team that finished third in Class 4A-II last season with an 18-7 record.
WIBW’s Jake Lebahn and Dan Lucero spoke to Head about his new position.
