The November 8th weekend didn’t feature the close games we thought we would see, instead it produced some big time blowouts.
TCU and Baylor looked very impressive in their wins over Oklahoma and Kansas State and KU got their first Big 12 win as they took down the Cyclones.
Three games remain for each team in the Big 12 regular season.
Last week was a rough one for my picks. Straight up I went 1-3 and against the spread 1-3.
Overall on straight up picks I am 53-8, against the spread I am 31-22.
It is a light week for games in the Big 12 this week, just three.
TCU at Kansas (FS1) 2:00 p.m.
TCU will win the game because well they are TCU and KU is KU. The question is does KU cover the 28.5 point spread. This is intriguing. If it was a normal November day of 50 degree weather then I think most people would take TCU to cover. The weather will not be very good at all. The question isn’t will it snow it is how much snow will Lawrence get. Cold and snow can be a big time equalizer. If KU can handle the snow and adverse conditions and TCU can’t, well then I think KU will give them a game. What this boils down to is defense travels. It always has always will. Good defense is good defense is hot or cold weather. TCU’s defense does their job and I think TCU’s offense is just too quick for KU. TCU wins and covers. TCU 40 KU 10
Oklahoma at Texas Tech (ESPN) 2:30 p.m.
Oklahoma will win this game because Texas Tech is just struggling mightily. Oklahoma has to much depth and too much beef on the offensive and defensive line. Trevor Knight will not play in this game so that makes the final score a big intriguing. Oklahoma is a 17 point favorite and I think you will see a heavy dose of Semaje Perine for the Sooners. They get back to the ground and pound run game. Oklahoma gets back on track and gets it done. Texas Tech continues to struggle. OU 45 TT 21
Texas at Oklahoma State (FOX) 6:30 p.m
This is the only close game that I think will happen in the Big 12. Texas is playing very well right now. They have won two in a row including a nice win against WVU. Swoopes is playing well and the defense is playing just as good. Oklahoma State has one weapon in Tyreek Hill. Slow him down you win the game. OSU’s offense just lacks punch right now. I like Texas to get the win on the road and get bowl eligible and I also think they cover the 2.5 point spread. UT 28 OSU 21
