A drug courier from California who was caught transporting cocaine in Wabaunsee County was sentenced to three years in federal prison on Monday.
U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said in a news release that Marco Antonio Aispuro, 48, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. On October 21st of 2016 the Kansas Highway Patrol stopped Aispuro’s vehicle going eastbound on I-70 in Wabaunsee County. After a search of his vehicle, officers found 117 pounds of cocaine hidden in a rear quarter panel and a spare tire.
Beall commended the DEA, Kansas Highway Patrol and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Skip Jacobs for their work on the case.
