Portions of Kansas could be tough to travel through for at least part of the upcoming weekend.
“We do have a Winter Storm Watch that has been posted,” said meteorologist Dan Holiday. “This is for extreme northwestern Kansas including Hill City, Oakley, Colby, Goodland and Tribune.”
The storm will start as rain and then change over.
“That’s where we expect to see about five to six inches of snow,” said Holiday. “If your travel will take you there, that’s where you’ll see the main impacts with this storm system. The rest of it is going to be in the form of rain for us starting as soon as tomorrow afternoon.”
The wind will also be breezy in that part of the state on Saturday, with sustained winds above 20 mph and gusts to 40 mph. Monitor future forecasts as impacts become more certain in the next several hours.
