The Powerball jackpot is worth paying attention to for Wednesday.
“The estimated Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is at $550 million,” said Courtney Ryan with the Kansas Lottery. “The cash option is $335 million.”
This is one of the largest jackpots in Powerball history.
“This is actually the eighth-largest Powerball jackpot across the country,” said Ryan. “There hasn’t actually been a jackpot winner since the December 26, 2018 winner. This is actually a pretty big jackpot and one of the biggest we’ve seen in a long time.”
There’s also a millionaire who bought their ticket in Kansas late last year that hasn’t claimed their prize. A million dollar winning ticket is still outstanding from the Dec 29, 2018 drawing that was sold in south central Kansas.
“Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday about about 10:59 p.m. Eastern time,” said Ryan. “The cost for a ticket is $2 per play. Tickets are sold in 44 states, including Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.”
