Our Shawnee County Football Tour continues today with a visit to Highland Park to check in on the Scots.
LAST YEAR: The Scots finished with an 0-9 record, running their losing streak to 43 games, but came close to snapping that skid in a two-point loss to Sumner Academy in Week 2. This year, 12 lettermen return for a Scots program that has seen their numbers increase.
PLAYERS TO WATCH: A pair of juniors had excellent summers for the Scots as they made their rounds to the camp circuit – lineman Chance Gragg has the size to be a standout in the trenches, and Trey Prosper is a terrific athlete that can help the Scots in a variety of ways.
SCHEDULE: 09/06 @ SEAMAN 09/13 SUMNER ACADEMY 09/20 TOPEKA HIGH 09/27 @ TOPEKA WEST 10/04 @ JUNCTION CITY 10/11 EMPORIA 10/18 @ WASHBURN RURAL 10/24 MANHATTAN 11/01 PLAYOFF GAME

Success won’t happen overnight for @HPHSATHLETICS but this young and growing group of Scots is putting in work to lay a foundation. Today’s Shawnee County Football Tour stop is at Highland Park! #580Preps pic.twitter.com/KCdw8uDXxX — 580 Sports Talk (@580Sportstalk) August 27, 2019
