One subject is in custody from an incident involving a stolen vehicle from the city of Auburn that lead to the discovery of a stolen car ring.
21-year-old Rachael R. Ratzloff of Topeka is facing multiple charges.
On January 9th, 2020 shortly after 7am, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received a call about a Toyota Tacoma that was stolen overnight out of the city of Auburn. Sheriff’s deputies, with assistance from the truck owner, were able to locate the truck in the 600 block of SE Lime Street. A Kia Optima, reported stolen out of Jackson County, was also located at that address.
Ratzloff was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft.
The investigation and video surveillance identified two outstanding suspects as 22-year-old Cody J. Brown and 23-year-old Cheyenne N. Thomas, both of Topeka. A firearm was stolen during one of the vehicle burglaries. The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s assistance in locating these two individuals.
