Summit to Target Issues Important to Minority Business Owners & Entrepreneurs
Jul 19, 2019 @ 8:57am
Time still remains to register for the
2019 Kansas Minority Business Summit

rd
at the Kansas City Kansas Community College’s (KCKCC) Dr. Thomas R. Burke Technical Education Center at 6565 State Ave in KCK.
Hosted by KCKCC, Renaissance Management and Training Solutions, LLP and the Kansas Chamber, the summit will include networking opportunities and feature speakers and panels focused on issues important to minority business owners and entrepreneurs.
“Our goal is that minority businesses owners invest in an afternoon of conversation and networking with us and then leave with a list of resources and ideas on how they grow their businesses and the impact they have on their communities,” said Alan Cobb, President and CEO of the Kansas Chamber.
The first panel will focus on resources available to minority business owners and entrepreneurs to help them start and grow their organizations. Those joining moderator Jim Echols, CEO of Renaissance, on the panel include:
Vercie Lark, Chairman, Heartland Black Chamber of Commerce
Carlos Gomez, President and CEO, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City
Joseph Melookaran, Co-Founder/Treasurer, Asian American Chamber of Commerce Kansas City
John O’Brien, Executive Director, American Indian Enterprise and Business Council
“As a minority business owner, I know firsthand the challenges faced by minority-owned businesses. The resources and perspectives we discuss and share will highlight greater opportunities for success”, said Echols.
Attendees also will hear from a panel of successful minority business owners who started and built their own businesses through private sector partnerships. Joining moderator Rhonda Harris, Director of Kansas Department of Commerce’s Office of Minority and Women Businesses, on the panel include:
Daniel Felder, CEO, Axiom Construction Group, LLC
Delbert Selectman, President, Dello Eco Industrial
Neelima Parasker, President & CEO, SnapIT Solutions, LLC
Kim Randolph, President, Heartland Black Chamber of Commerce
“KCKCC is happy to support and host the 2019 Kansas Minority Business Summit,” said Dr. Greg Mosier, President of KCKCC. “The KMB summit will serve to strengthen networks that ultimately help organizations grow and prosper in Kansas.”
