The personal finance website WalletHub set out to determine the best-run cities in the country.
Three cities in Kansas were included in that survey.
To determine the effectiveness of local leadership, WalletHub compared 150 of the largest U.S. cities based on their operating efficiency.
For each city, WalletHub constructed a “Quality of City Services” score – composed of 38 key performance indicators grouped into six service categories – that was then measured against the city’s total per capita budget.
Three cities in Kansas – Wichita, Kansas City, Kansas, and Topeka – were included in the study.
Overall, Topeka came in at number 41, while Wichita wasn’t far behind at number 52 out of 150.
Kansas City, Kansas was much further down the list at number 133.
Nationally, Nampa, Idaho topped the list, with Washington D.C. at the bottom.
