Topeka fire officials are investigating an arson case that started in the central part of the city Thursday.
Investigators say firefighters responded to a structure fire located at 1111 SW Lincoln Street shortly after 2:00 p.m.
Fire crews reported heavy smoke and flames from a two story residential structure that contained three separate apartments.
Fire suppression crews conducted an offensive fire attack and a search confirmed that all occupants were out of the structure.
The heat from the fire caused damage to both houses next to 1111 SW Lincoln Street.
The fire did approximately $30,000 in damage. The American Red Cross responded and assisted four adults.
