Between June 8th and 13th, three Topeka Metro bus stops had windows shot out by suspects using a pellet gun of some type.
“This occurred throughout the city in no one specific side of town or area of town,” said Topeka Police Lieutenant Collen Stuart.
Another incident involving vandalism of public transportation occurred on June 14th.
“There were two Topeka Metro bus stops that were damaged by unknown suspects with what we believe to be rocks,” said Stuart.
The total amount of damage between the incidents is estimated to be around $1500.
“It’s unknown if the bus stops and the damage to the actual buses that were in service are linked,” said Stuart. “There’s no suspect information at this point. These are occurring throughout the city with no particular pattern to it.”
The TPD is asking that anyone with helpful information to contact the Criminal Intelligence Unit at firstname.lastname@example.org.

A previous version of this story said that bus windows were shot out. Topeka Metro advised us that was not the case.
