Topeka Police Arrest Man After Christmas Morning Standoff

Topeka Police arrested a man Christmas morning after a standoff in the southwest part of the city.

Thirty-nine-year-old Michael Ogle was arrested around 11 a.m. after police responded around 7:30 a.m. to a violent domestic disturbance at 5924 SW 35th street involving a couple and their children.

The woman and the children were able to leave before Ogle barricaded himself inside.

Wanamaker Road was shut down from 34th to 36th streets while police communicated, trying to get Ogle to come out.

Ogle was booked on aggravated battery, reckless endangerment and interference with law enforcement charges. No bond has been set.
