Kansas State Representatives Don Hineman from Dighton and Larry Hibbard from Toronto, joined us on Wednesday’s Ag Issues program. The Kansas Legislature is scheduled to start their annual April recess at the end of this week. They updated the status of SB 32 which passed the Kansas Senate, but didn’t pass through committee in the House. Hineman and Hibbard expect it will be taken up again in the House before the end the session. They also had the latest on industrial hemp legislation. They also had an update on where school finance legislation stands. They say the school finance legislation must be wrapped before the April recess. Hibbard also talked about an upcoming legislative tour that will take place down in Greenwood County during the April recess.
