Kent Bacus, Director of International Trade and Market Access with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, joined us on Monday’s Ag Issues program. The discussion focused on last week’s signing ceremony between the United States and Japan on the intent to sign a bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. Bacus talked about what it could mean to the U.S. and their number one export market for U.S. beef. He also talked about some of the steps that still need to take place before the agreement is signed. Bacus also discussed the status of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement that is awaiting a vote in the U.S. House.
